I’ve altered flac123 slightly to allow setting the output buffer size, as well as cleaning up the STDOUT/STDERR interaction and put it on github. Not extremely exciting.

Good thing, but wouldn't it better to become an admin/developer of flac123 on sourceforge? I'm glad with the volume control in your version of flac123. Are you planning a debian package?
I'm not planning any further flac123 tweaks, as it fits my needs perfectly now…
